The conference slate in college basketball on Sunday includes this AAC game in New Orleans. Tulane is in fifth place in the AAC. The Green Wave therefore have a very specific and important incentive attached to this game individually and to their next several weeks of AAC competition. They want to get a top-four seed for the AAC Tournament so that they get an early-round bye and therefore have to win fewer games at the conference tournament in order to win the event and get the league’s automatic berth to March Madness. Tulane has won three of its last five games, which is hardly remarkable on any larger level, but which rates as better than most of the league in a five-game span. All the teams below Tulane in the AAC standings have at least four conference losses and are no better than .500 in league play. Tulane is 5-3, a modest record and yet good enough to be solidly in the top half of the conference. A win here would affirm Tulane’s position in the upper tier of the AAC and would give the Green Wave reason to believe they can be a factor at the conference tournament one month from now.

Tulsa is struggling in AAC play. The Golden Hurricane have lost three of their past four games. The crusher was an overtime loss to East Carolina. That’s the kind of 50-50 game an average team needs to be able to win in order to gain confidence in tense, high-pressure situations and evolve in ways which can transcend a team’s talent level. Tulsa has not been able to play better than its talent level. The team scored just 56 points in a loss to South Florida immediately preceding that East Carolina loss. It’s a domino effect in which one near miss leads to another.

Why Tulsa Will Cover The Spread/Win

Tulane is not a bad team, but should the Green Wave be favored by nearly 10 points against anyone? Tulsa struggles to win, but the Golden Hurricane have been legitimately and robustly competitive this season. It’s just that they don’t finish games as well as they can. Staying close to opponents, however, has not been Tulsa’s main problem. The Golden Hurricane have played a number of recent games decided by single-digit margins. If the final margin of this game is a single-digit margin — anything under 10 points — Tulsa will cover the spread here. That is a basic, obvious reason to ride with Tulsa in this game.

Why Tulane Will Cover The Spread/Win

The Green Wave are clearly better than Tulsa. They are playing at home. They have been in better form than Tulsa over the past five games, with a better record against better competition. One of Tulane’s recent losses was to Memphis, a really good team and an NCAA Tournament lock. Tulsa’s recent losses have not even included a game against Memphis. Tulane, having lost to Memphis, went up against elite athletes. Tulsa’s athletes, by comparison, will be a lot more ordinary. Tulane, playing at home, should be able to dictate this game and how it is played at both ends of the floor.

    Final Tulsa-Tulane Prediction & Pick

Tulane is the better team, but we are not sure the Green Wave are 10 points better than Tulsa. Our lean is to Tulsa, but we’re not going to trust the inferior team in a matchup to deliver for us in a spread bet. There are better games and better options for you on the Sunday card in college basketball. You can take a pass on this one.

    Final Tulsa-Tulane Prediction & Pick: Tulsa +9.5

The Tulsa Golden Hurricane will face off against the Tulane Green Wave in a college basketball showdown. Both teams are looking to secure a win in this matchup, but only one will come out on top.

In terms of predictions, it’s hard to say who will emerge victorious. Tulsa has shown strength on both offense and defense, with players like Brandon Rachal leading the way. However, Tulane has also had some impressive performances, with Jaylen Forbes standing out on the court.

As for a pick, I would give a slight edge to Tulsa in this game. They have a slightly better record and have shown more consistency throughout the season.

In terms of college basketball odds, Tulsa is currently favored to win by a narrow margin. However, anything can happen in basketball, so it will be interesting to see how this game plays out. Be sure to tune in to see who comes out on top in this exciting matchup between Tulsa and Tulane.

    What to Know

Tulane and Tulsa are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2019, but not for long. Both will face off in an American Athletic battle at 2:00 p.m. ET on Sunday at Fogelman Arena in Devlin Fieldhouse. The Green Wave are strutting in with some offensive muscle as they’ve averaged 75.6 points per game this season.

Tulane is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 82 points last Saturday, they were much more limited against Memphis on Thursday. They fell 68-56 to the Tigers. The match marked the Green Wave’s lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Despite the defeat, Tulane had strong showings from Rowan Brumbaugh, who had 19 points plus seven rebounds, and Kaleb Banks, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and two blocks. Brumbaugh had some trouble finding his footing against Rice last Saturday, so this was a step in the right direction.

Meanwhile, Tulsa couldn’t handle UAB on Wednesday and fell 78-68. The Golden Hurricane have struggled against the Blazers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

The losing side was boosted by Dwon Odom, who went 7 for 10 en route to 17 points plus eight rebounds and seven assists. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in offensive rebounds (five). Isaiah Barnes, on the other hand, was considerably less helpful: he went 0-5 from deep.

Even though they lost, Tulsa smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they’ve now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in four consecutive contests.

Tulane’s loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-9. As for Tulsa, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-12.

Going forward, Tulane is the favorite in this one, as the experts expect to see them win by 9.5 points. For those looking to play the spread, keep Tulane’s opponent in mind: they have a solid 7-3 record against the spread vs Tulsa over their last ten matchups.

Tulane beat Tulsa 94-87 in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. Does Tulane have another victory up their sleeve, or will Tulsa turn the tables on them? We’ll have the answer soon enough.

The oddsmakers were right in line with the betting community on this one, as the game opened as a 9.5-point spread, and stayed right there.

  • Senator Goodwin cited in Tulsa for traffic violation after failing to stop at stop sign

**Correction: Oklahoma Senator Regina Goodwin was cited for a traffic violation, not arrested.**

Oklahoma State Senator Regina Goodwin has been cited and released for failing to stop for a stop sign.

According to public records, the traffic violation occurred on Jan. 11, 2025, near the 200 block of E. Archer Street.

Body cam video from the Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office shows a deputy conducting a traffic stop on Senator Goodwin.

Goodwin can be heard in the video asking why she’s being stopped.

The deputy replies it’s because she ran two stop signs, but Goodwin said she didn’t.

The deputy repeatedly asked to see her driver’s license and said he wouldn’t ask again, but she continued talking with the deputy.

That’s when he placed her in handcuffs and put her in the back of his patrol unit.

She was later taken out of the patrol unit, was uncuffed, and issued a citation for failing to stop at a stop sign.

Multiple people approached Goodwin while she was with deputies, including Tulsa Mayor Monroe Nichols.

  • Oklahoma Sen. Regina Goodwin pulled over by Tulsa County deputy

Oklahoma State Senator Regina Goodwin got pulled over on a traffic stop by a Tulsa County Deputy.

Body camera footage of the stop shows Tulsa Mayor Monroe Nichols showed up after the citation was already issued. Goodwin’s attorney and a Tulsa City Councilor also showed up.

Why was Senator Regina Goodwin pulled over?

Body camera footage of the stop shows a Tulsa County deputy telling Senator Goodwin she ran two stop signs near the 200 block of East Archer Street.

The video shows Goodwin refused to provide her driver’s license, even after the deputy asked for it more than a dozen times.

It then shows the deputy handcuffing Goodwin and then putting her in his car.

Who was at the traffic stop?

The video shows her attorney, Mike Manning at the scene arriving after Goodwin was in custody.

In the video, Manning says, “I realize Senator Goodwin can be strong-headed at times, but don’t you think you can write her a citation?”

Tulsa City Councilor Laura Bellis is also seen on the body camera video at the scene and told News On 6 she was running an errand, and she saw Senator Goodwin, pulled over and stopped to make sure she was safe, as she would do that for anyone she knows.

Mayor Monroe Nichols says he was at city hall when a mutual friend told him Goodwin got pulled over down the street.

So he says he went over to check on his friend and arrived after she had been released.

“This is just someone who got pulled over who happens to be a state senator and a common friend that we have who happens to call her former colleague who is the mayor who was close enough and in the area to stop by who then had a very calm and fine exchange with sheriff’s deputies, and at the end of the day that’s all that happened,” said Mayor Nichols.

The body camera shows Nichols asking a deputy what happened after Goodwin was ticketed, and Nichols never mentions he’s the mayor of Tulsa.

Mayor Nichols, said, “You know, I don’t know, I mean maybe, maybe it’s not something that happens every day with the mayor, but before I was mayor I was always Monroe, and you know how you had a friend who could have been in a situation where maybe it’s good to have a friend there with you and that’s all that was.”

What was the conclusion of the traffic stop?

Senator Goodwin was let out of the deputy’s car, and the deputy took the handcuffs off Goodwin.

Goodwin was ticketed for failing to stop for a stop sign.

The deputy told Goodwin’s attorney he initially planned to give her a warning.

“I was just going to give her a verbal warning and tell her not to do that but her demeanor the way that she was, I can’t have that, okay? I’m the one in control of the traffic stop, not her. If I don’t allow other people to do that when I do a traffic stop, I’m not going to allow her either,” said the Deputy.

    Senator Goodwin’s Comments

“Let the courts handle it,” said Senator Goodwin

News On 6 reached out to her attorney, Mike Manning, but has not heard back.

Earlier today, Oklahoma State Senator Regina Goodwin was pulled over by a Tulsa County deputy for a routine traffic stop. Goodwin, who represents District 73 in the state legislature, was reportedly driving within the speed limit and following all traffic laws at the time of the stop.

Goodwin’s office has not released a statement regarding the incident, but sources close to the senator have indicated that she was cooperative with the deputy and was ultimately let go with just a warning.

This incident serves as a reminder that even public officials are not above the law and must adhere to the same rules and regulations as everyone else. It also highlights the importance of maintaining a respectful and cooperative attitude when interacting with law enforcement officers.

We will continue to monitor this situation and provide updates as more information becomes available.

  • Tulsa shelters seek clothing and monetary donations as guest numbers rise

Emergency shelters are working together to keep people warm, but with these shelters currently hosting more people, they’re in need of donations.

“The other shelters around, we communicate with them and collaborate with them in order to help as many people as we can safely and efficiently,” said Ryan McCullough, the Director of Guest Services at the John 3:16 Mission Downtown shelter location.

A collaboration between multiple organizations in Tulsa to help keep residents warm as another round of freezing weather hits the state.

“If it feels like 32 or colder, our warming station immediately goes into activation,” said McCullough.

One of those organizations is John 3:16 Mission, a nonprofit that opened a warming station in their downtown emergency shelter.

“They’re out in the cold, they need somewhere to come to warm up for a little while and be safe. They can come here and that’s available 24-7,” said McCullough.

Another warming station is at Tulsa Day Center.

CEO of the center, Mack Haltom says that, unlike the last cold snap, there aren’t any overflow shelters, so people will have to rely entirely on the emergency shelters for overnight warmth.

“We’re going to really have to hopefully make room with as many people as we can to get them inside during the day and during our night shelter, and I know the other shelters will be having the same kind of issues,” said Haltom.

The other shelters that are opening their doors include the Salvation Army Center of Hope and Youth Services of Tulsa.

“With the increased numbers, I think, of course, increased needs that we need for the Tulsa Day Center, keeping our building open, the costs of utilities, and the supplies we need to help people take care of people,” said Haltom.

Haltom says people can help them by donating warm clothing, and they are also taking financial donations to keep the building open and heated.

John 3:16 Mission is asking for towels and scrubs, hand warmers, emergency blankets, gloves, and socks, and just like Tulsa Day Center, they’re also taking monetary donations.

Information on the open emergency shelters and warming stations can be found on the Housing Solutions Tulsa website.

You can donate by going to the John 3:16 mission website or the Tulsa Day Center website or you can bring item donations to those locations.

As the temperature drops, Tulsa shelters are seeing an increase in the number of guests seeking refuge from the cold. With this rise in guests, shelters are in need of clothing donations to help keep those in need warm during the winter months.

Many shelters are also in need of monetary donations to help cover the costs of providing shelter, food, and other essential services to those experiencing homelessness. By donating money, you can help ensure that shelters have the resources they need to support those in need.

If you have gently used clothing or monetary donations to spare, please consider donating to a Tulsa shelter near you. Your generosity can make a big difference in the lives of those experiencing homelessness this winter. Let’s come together as a community to support those in need during this challenging time.

Tulsa King Season 3 Gets Exciting Update from Sylvester Stallone

A new social media post from Sylvester Stallone hyped fans for more Tulsa King.

In Tulsa King, the iconic Sylvester Stallone plays Dwight “The General” Manfredi, a former mobster recently released from prison. Excommunicated from the Mafia, Manfredi travels to Tulsa, Oklahoma to further his criminal activities.

On his official Instagram page, Sylvester Stallone, star of Paramount+’s Tulsa King, announced that Season 3 of the popular series entered development.

The update came from a script page for Tulsa King posted by Stallone with many lines crossed out and several notes scribbled. However, this is not a script for a Season 3 episode of the series. It reads “Ep. 206,” or the second season’s sixth episode.

Stallone captioned the post with what looks to be an outright confirmation of a third season:

“Well, it is time to get ready for NEXT SEASON ON TULSA KING … Go Team Go!”

In November 2024, Deadline reported that Tulsa King was renewed for Seasons 3 and 4. This comes as Stallone received a hefty raise, according to the outlet. The actor will exceed $1.5 million an episode starting with the program’s next season.

Also, per Deadline, Tulsa King Season 2 did big numbers for Paramount+. The season premiere opened to two million global views on day 1, a series high.

Not to mention that over 35 days, Tulsa King’s Season 2 averaged over 10 million global households streaming the series. That’s 8% better than where this metric was situated during Season 1.

It‘s no surprise that Paramount+ ordered not one but two more seasons of Tulsa King.

When Could Tulsa King Season 3 Premiere?

No official release date for Season 3 of Tulsa King has yet been announced.

It seems likely that if the third season kicked off production sometime in early 2025, it could be ready to debut in late 2025 or early 2026.

Considering Season 2 ended in November, it would be a long wait. However, the 2023 Hollywood strikes hindered Tulsa King‘s production and caused a gap of similar length between Seasons 1 and 2.

Casting-wise, Sylvester Stallone will return to his series lead role as Dwight Manfredi. Tulsa King mainstays, such as Andrea Savage and Martin Starr, are also expected to appear.

Other details, such as the story and additional casting for Tulsa King Season 3, are more challenging to puzzle this far out from its arrival.

Seasons 1 and 2 of Tulsa King are streaming on Paramount+.
