BROOKFIELD, CT — Crews extinguished a chimney fire at a home late Monday night in Brookfield, according to officials.
Brookfield Emergency Services responded around 11 p.m. to a home off Chickadee Lane for a reported chimney fire, according to a post on the Brookfield Volunteer Fire Company’s Facebook page.
Officials said fire was showing from the interior ceiling and the call was upgraded to a working fire. Additional resources from New Milford, Stony Hill, Bethel, Bridgewater and Hawleyville were requested, according to officials.
“Due to road conditions, the electrical grid was shut down remotely by Eversource until a road crew was able to secure the residential service,” officials wrote in the post on Facebook. “Thankfully there were no injuries to any residents or responders.”
The Brookfield Fire Marshals office is investigating the cause and origin of the fire.
“A huge thank you to Brookfield Public Works for responding to the area upon our initial dispatch and ensuring a safe passage for all the apparatus, personnel and family members,” officials wrote.
