Craig Melvin has had quite an eventful couple of weeks, which has seen him step up as the main co-anchor alongside Savannah Guthrie, following Hoda Kotb‘s departure on January 10.
And while Craig is very much settled into his new gig, Hoda is never far from his thoughts – so much so, that he ended up making a bit of a blunder on Friday’s show!
The popular TV anchor was introducing the Fourth Hour at the end of the Third Hour, telling viewers: “Stay tuned for Today with Hoda & Jenna…” before correcting himself.
“Oops, force of habit, Jenna and Friends,” he added.
Jenna Bush Hager has been co-hosting the last segment of Today with new co-anchors each week.

KILLEEN, Texas — A Killeen ISD Middle School teacher has resigned and is under investigation following allegations involving a student, KISD has announced.
The district said it was made aware of “allegations involving a teacher and a student” at Eastern Hills Middle School on Jan. 22.
The name of the teacher and the details of the allegations have not been provided by the district at this time.
KISD said the teacher resigned on Jan. 23 and no longer works for the district. The KISD Police Department “immediately” began investigating the allegations, according to the district.
Killeen ISD said the district is “cooperating fully” with law enforcement, and encouraged parents to contact KISD PD at 254-336-2810 if they have any additional information.
“The safety of every student is our highest priority,” said KISD in a statement.
Parents and students can report safety concerns at www.KISDisSafe.com. Those who make reports through the link have a choice to remain anonymous.

The district learned about the allegations on Jan. 22 and The Killeen ISD Police Department immediately began investigating.
The teacher resigned on Jan. 23 and no longer works for the district, the administration said.
“The safety of every student is our highest priority, and the district is cooperating fully with law enforcement,” the district said.
The nature of the allegations were not revealed by the school district. The name of the educator has not yet been released.

NOPD Responds to Fatal Traffic Crash in Eighth District Involving Multiple Victims
The NOPD responded to a fatal traffic crash that occurred during the early hours today (January 1, 2025) at the intersection of Bourbon and Canal streets that has resulted in multiple fatalities and injuries, including the suspected perpetrator.
At about 3:17 a.m., multiple law enforcement officers responded to a report of a vehicle having driven into a crowd of pedestrians on Bourbon Street. Multiple people were reportedly struck before the vehicle crashed.
Upon further investigation, a total of 10 victims were declared to be deceased on scene. At this time, approximately 35 additional victims were determined to have suffered injuries in relation to this incident. Those injured were transported to multiple local and area hospitals via EMS for treatment. No updates are currently available on these victims’ conditions.
After the vehicle came to a stop, the suspect reportedly opened fire on responding officers, who returned fire. The victim was struck and subsequently declared deceased on scene. Further information on the suspect is not currently available for release.
Two NOPD officers were struck and injured in the exchange. Both were transported via EMS to a local hospital and were last listed in stable condition.
Investigation into this incident is ongoing. No further details are currently available. The next media briefing is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. CST to provide updates.
The public is urged to avoid Bourbon Street north from Canal to Dumaine Streets and also east to Royal Street to west to Dauphine Street until further notice as this investigation is ongoing.

‘Babygirl’ director says that scene involving a glass of milk actually happened to her

Yes, milk. It’s what Harris Dickinson’s character in the new erotic thriller “Babygirl” makes Nicole Kidman’s character drink at a bar amid their spicy romance, an experience the film’s director Halina Reijn said happened to her in real life.
In the scene, Samuel (Dickinson), who is Romy’s (Kidman) significantly younger intern and her lover, orders Romy a glass of milk from across the bar. When she drinks it, Samuel says “good girl” to her as he leaves the bar.
“The milk is, of course, an archetype,” Reijn told IndieWire in an interview published Saturday. “We’ve seen it in other movies. It is a great symbol of (the) animalistic sides of ourselves. It happened to me.”
Reijn went on to describe her own encounter. She said it happened to her in Belgium years ago when she’d gone to a bar by herself and ran into a “young Belgian actor,” who she did not name but said was famous and “at least 15 years younger than I.”
“He ordered me a glass of milk. I thought it was an incredible, hot thing to do, and so courageous, and so I wanted to reward him by drinking the whole thing, and I did,” she said.
While Reijn admitted that she was “a little nauseated” from drinking the milk, she “did think that was one of the most arousing moments of my life” while she was writing the film’s script.
She added that the mystery actor did not say “girl good” to her as Samuel tells Romy in the film.
“I wish he did,” Reijn said. “He just walked out.”
“Babygirl” was released on Christmas Day and follows Romy, a high-powered CEO who has a steamy affair with her much younger intern Samuel. Kidman, Dickinson, Antonio Banderas and Esther Rose McGregor star in the film.

Visalia Police are investigating a crash involving a Tulare County Sheriff’s Deputy.
VISALIA, Calif. (KFSN) — Visalia Police are investigating a crash involving a Tulare County Sheriff’s Deputy.
It happened at 2:30 a.m. Thursday morning at Demaree Street and Riggin Avenue.
Police say the deputy was traveling north on Demaree.
That’s when a Nissan heading west on Riggin collided with the deputy, striking his passenger side.
The Nissan came to rest in the intersection, while the deputy’s vehicle ended up in a grassy area of a nearby church.
The deputy and woman in the Nissan were taken to the hospital with moderate injuries.
