Vanna White doesn’t get why son Nikko is called a ‘thirst trap’
Vanna White’s wheels were spinning when it came to this phrase.
After posting a video with her son, Nikko, 30, in December, the internet deemed White’s eldest child a “thirst trap.” A term the “Wheel of Fortune” co-host, 67, wasn’t accustomed to.
“I recently posted a video of me and my son, Nikko, cooking and it got a lot of response,” White told host Ryan Seacrest on the Thursday’s episode of the game show.
Vanna White’s son Nikko posted a tribute to her for Mother’s Day in May 2024. Instagram/nikkoshow “I don’t get,” she added.
Luckily, Seacrest stepped in to help White out.
“The kids are calling Nikko a thirst trap,” Seacrest, 50, said. “Apparently, that was a very tight [top]. He went to the Baby Gap to buy that shirt. It was very tight and they found him strikingly good-looking and no one knows what you cooked.”

“We cooked Uncle Roy’s chicken,” she added.
Seacrest thanked Uncle Roy for the recipe and Nikko “for that tight shirt.”
“I’m going to post another video today,” White said before doing just that.
Later, the mom of two, who also has a daughter, Gigi, 28, with ex-husband George Santo Pietro, shared footage of the mother-son duo cooking parsnip soup.
Nikko said he’s always loved to be in front of cameras. Instagram/nikkoshow “We’re back with another recipe,” White captioned her Instagram video. “Whether you’re a parsnip lover or have never tried them before, we have the perfect soup for you to make at home!”
Nikko replied, “Can’t go wrong with a simple dish.”
Fans flocked to the comments section once more to give their stamp of approval.
“Love seeing the two of you!!!!” one follower wrote while a second user chimed in, “The two best chefs.”
Nikko said he’s always loved to be in front of cameras. Instagram/nikkoshow Nikko, meanwhile, called the attention “flattering” back in December.
“Obviously I had an outpour from her fans just really being kind and saying all kinds of interesting stuff in the comments,” the real estate agent told Entertainment Tonight at the time. “I’ve always loved being in front of the camera, and I work really hard on my social media, that’s a big part of what I do, so it feels natural and good.”
However, Nikko isn’t letting all the online chatter go to his head.
“People see me as this heartthrob and they’re thirsty for me and all this stuff,” he added. “I love it all, but at the same time, it’s really good to remember the meaningful things in life and just kind of dial it back, doing a lot of charity work, working hard every day.”
“That’s what it is to me,” Nikko added. “Making an impact.”
Vanna White, the iconic hostess of Wheel of Fortune, recently expressed her confusion over why her son Nikko is often referred to as a “thirst trap” on social media. In a recent interview, Vanna opened up about her son’s burgeoning popularity on platforms like Instagram, where he often shares photos showcasing his fit physique and stylish fashion choices.Despite Nikko’s growing fan base and the attention he receives for his good looks, Vanna admits that she doesn’t quite understand the term “thirst trap” and why it is used to describe her son. She jokingly remarked, “I guess I’m just a little old-fashioned when it comes to social media slang. But hey, as long as he’s happy and confident in himself, that’s all that matters to me.”
While Vanna may not fully grasp the concept of a “thirst trap,” she fully supports her son and his journey as he navigates the world of social media and online fame. With her unwavering love and belief in Nikko, it’s clear that Vanna White is a proud and supportive mother, no matter what labels are thrown his way.

“Wheel of Fortune” star Vanna White was left puzzled after social media users called her son Nikko Santo Pietro a “thirst trap.”
Last month, White, 67, shared an Instagram video in which she and Santo Pietro were seen in the kitchen as they cooked a chicken dish. After fans used the slang phrase to describe the 30-year-old real estate agent, White appeared to be unfamiliar with the meaning of the term during Thursday’s episode of the long-running game show.
“I recently posted a video of me and my son, Nikko, cooking and it got a lot of response,” the TV personality told her co-host Ryan Seacrest as the audience cheered.

“Oh boy!” Seacrest said.
“What’s it going to be?” White said coyly to which Seacrest replied, “We’ll find out soon.”

Vanna White, the beloved co-host of “Wheel of Fortune,” recently found herself in a bit of a confusing situation when her son was referred to as a “thirst trap” on social media. The term “thirst trap” is often used to describe a photo or video that is posted online with the intention of attracting attention or compliments. It’s typically used in a playful or lighthearted way, but Vanna White was left scratching her head when she saw it being used to describe her own son.
In a recent interview, White admitted that she had to do some research to figure out what the term meant. She ultimately discovered that it was meant as a compliment, but she couldn’t help but feel a little puzzled by the whole situation.
Despite her confusion, White took the whole thing in stride and even joked that she might have to start posting some “thirst traps” of her own. It just goes to show that even a seasoned TV personality like Vanna White can still be surprised by the ever-evolving world of social media.

Why Fans Think Vanna White May Have Dropped An F-Bomb During Wheel Of Fortune
Whenever game show contestants make wildly bad guesses or manage to lose out after coming so close to winning, it’s not so uncommon for viewers to play armchair quarterback while yelling any number of NSFW comments at the TV. Less common, however, are such exclamations from those heading up the game shows themselves. But that hasn’t stopped some Wheel of Fortune fans from thinking Vanna White dropped an F-bomb on the air.
Understandably, the moment in question didn’t take place during the usual in-studio portion of Wheel of Fortune’s episode filming. (I can only imagine if Vanna responded to a contestant’s request to buy an E with “Fuck no, you can’t.”) After the winning contestant walked away from the Bonus Round with a brand new vehicle, Seacrest cued up a pretaped clip from a ski trip to Park City the co-stars took together. Although calling it a “ski trip” implies both successfully traversed a slope or two, and that definitely wasn’t the case.
Seacrest facetiously claimed that White “panicked” after he took a wrong turn, and in the video we see, the radio host’s wrong turn happened almost immediately after he tried to confidently push himself forward. And it’s indeed how White reacts that plays into viewers’ hearing more mature language than what game shows usually offer up. Here’s the exchange:
- RYAN: All right, thanks for watching from this winter wonderland. See you next time on Wheel of Fortune!
- VANNA: Bye! Oooh! [QUESTIONABLE]
- RYAN [now laid out facefirst in the snow]: Too big of a slope for me.
- VANNA: I’m gonna go help Ryan. Bye-bye!
It’s a goofy bit, though I genuinely bought into the notion that Vanna White was not comfortable with the idea of zipping around snowy mountains with skis attached. I can also buy into the belief that Vanna would be the most fashionable person standing on any mountain at any given time, but that’s beside the point.
Soon after the episode aired, one fan took to Reddit to see if they were alone in assuming that Vanna exclaimed “Fuck!” after seeing Seacrest tumble. As the OP wrote in the comments of the post:
I swear she says the F word! . . . I keep trying to give her the benefit of the doubt that maybe she said duck lol NOPE!
To that Redditor’s credit, the audio from the recorded video in the post sounds tinny and sharp enough that it does actually sound like an F-bomb, even if it wasn’t muttered under her breath as it probably would have been had she accidentally cursed on TV.
But it almost definitely was not “fuck” that spewed forth from the co-host’s mouth. When rewatching the episode with my YouTube TV subscription, I put the closed captions on, and it confirmed my belief that all she said there was “Look!” since the camera goes to Seacrest right after she says it.
And I think we can all agree on how unlikely it is that an episode taped and edited far in advance of airing would have left an F-bomb in there untouched. I can’t even imagine a world where a bleeped-out version of that moment would air, and can only assume it would have been re-recorded if Vanna did indeed let one slip.
One can assume that Vanna helped Seacrest up, and without cursing him out, since we already know how kind and giving she’s been to him during his freshman year as Wheel of Fortune host. (And he still chose to amusingly prank her for Christmas.) She also thought it would be a fun idea to ask fans to give him a nickname, though that may have gone slightly more askew than she expected.
That Other Time Ryan Seacrest Fell Down Recently
Snowy weather doesn’t need to enter into the picture for Ryan Seacrest to take a random tumble in front of Wheel of Fortune viewers. In the same week that his ski stumble happened, the esteemed host also lost his footing on the set itself thanks to an overly joyous contestant.
Ouch @RyanSeacrest just got knocked over!! #wheeloffortune @TheVannaWhite pic.twitter.com/MJzM7OAvxtJanuary 22, 2025
After the winner hugged and grabbed onto Seacrest in the midst of leaping up and down, he let go at just the wrong moment, sending the American Idol emcee down for a quick count. Hopefully he’ll manage to stay upright for the remainder of episodes airing this week.
Fans of the long-running game show Wheel of Fortune were left shocked and confused during a recent episode when they believe they heard host Vanna White drop an F-bomb.During a tense moment in the game, White appeared to mutter the expletive under her breath before quickly composing herself and continuing with the show. The unexpected slip-up left viewers wondering if White had indeed let out a curse word on live television.
While some fans were quick to dismiss the incident as a simple misinterpretation, others took to social media to express their shock and amusement at the possible slip of the tongue. Many fans pointed out that White’s quick recovery and professionalism after the moment suggested that it may have been an innocent mistake.
Regardless of whether or not White actually dropped an F-bomb, the incident has certainly sparked a conversation among fans of the show. Only time will tell if White addresses the moment publicly or if it will remain a mysterious blip in Wheel of Fortune history.

‘Wheel of Fortune’ Fans Think Vanna White Said NSFW Word
Entertainment gossip and news from Newsweek’s network of contributors
A slip of the tongue on Wheel of Fortune has fans replaying a clip to determine if Vanna White just dropped the F-bomb on TV.
During the Wednesday, January 22 episode of the game show, as part of their Winter Wonderland Week, host Ryan Seacrest and White, 67, appeared in a segment where they were skiing in Park City, Utah. While Seacrest, 50, tumbled down the slope off-camera, White’s reaction caused a stir.
Many viewers believe that White’s response to the fall sounded suspiciously like a four-letter expletive and debated about it on the Wheel Reddit forum.

“I swear she says the F word!” one fan commented, while another agreed, “That’s what I thought she said too!”
A third corrected, “She said ‘Look,’not the F word,” while a fourth confirmed via subtitles, “She said ‘Look’. At least that’s what the closed captioning said.”
Despite some viewers pointing out that closed captions indicated White said “look,” others were unconvinced, continuing to speculate about what was really said. “I keep trying to give her the benefit of the doubt that maybe she said duck, lol, NOPE!” another fan added.

This isn’t Seacrest’s first tumble on Wheel this week. The TV personality lost his footing on the Tuesday, January 21 episode— though this time, it was thanks to a contestant’s excitement. Pittsburgh native Daniel Thomas made it to the bonus round and, after correctly solving a puzzle, hugged Seacrest so enthusiastically that he toppled the host onto the floor. The audience laughed as Seacrest quickly got to his feet, assuring Thomas, “No, I’m good! I’m good!”
While the audience was clearly entertained by the unexpected mishap, Seacrest was all smiles, telling Thomas, “Don’t worry — I loved it!” The excited contestant went on to win $71,950, but not before accidentally taking down Seacrest with his celebratory hug.
In a recent episode of Wheel of Fortune, fans were left shocked and confused when longtime co-host Vanna White appeared to say a NSFW word while turning a letter on the iconic game show’s famous puzzle board.Viewers took to social media to express their disbelief, with many speculating on what they believed they heard White say. Some fans even went as far as to rewind and replay the moment in question, trying to decipher if it was a genuine slip of the tongue or just a misunderstanding.
Despite the controversy, White has yet to address the incident publicly. However, Wheel of Fortune producers have assured fans that there was no foul language used during the taping of the episode and that any perceived slip-up was simply a case of mishearing.
Whether or not Vanna White actually said a NSFW word remains a topic of debate among Wheel of Fortune fans, but one thing is for sure – this unexpected moment has certainly added some excitement to an already thrilling game show!

Did Vanna White Just Drop ‘F-Bomb’ on Show?
A Wheel of Fortune contestant might have bagged themselves a brand new car on Wednesday’s (January 22) episode, but it was what Vanna White appeared to say that has fans talking.
At the end of Wednesday’s episode, the show marked its Winter Wonderland Week by airing footage of hosts Ryan Seacrest and White skiing in Park City, Utah. In the clip, Seacrest sets off down the slope and takes a tumble off camera, leading White to react in shock.
Many fans believe it sounds like White drops an F-bomb in the video as she watches the American Idol host fall in the snow.
“Did Vanna say what I think she said? I swear she says the F word!” wrote one user on the Wheel of Fortune Reddit forum.
Another agreed, replying, “Yes I have it recorded too. I’ve listened to it like 30 times trying to figure out an alternative explanation. There isn’t one.”
“I keep trying to give her the benefit of the doubt that maybe she said duck lol NOPE!” the original poster added.
“That’s what I thought she said too!” said another.
“Holy s***! It was clear as day. I was watching live and missed it!” replied one commenter.
Another wrote, “Lmao this just aired in pacific time and I jumped on reddit to find confirmation.”
However, others pointed out that the closed captions said she said “look,” though not everyone was convinced.
“She said “Look”. At least that’s what the closed captioning said,” wrote one Reddit user.
Another agreed, adding, “She said “Look”, not the F word.”
White also turned heads on Wednesday’s episode for her more casual appearance. The veteran letter-turner is usually dressed in glamorous gowns and dresses.

“I’ve never seen Vanna White not in a gown not gonna lie,” wrote one X user, while another added, “Was tonight the first time that Vanna White has worn pants on the show?”

Wednesday’s game saw Kira Tebbe from Washington, D.C., walk away a big winner after defeating Sabrina Brown from Aiken, South Carolina, and Steve Burke from Westford, Massachusetts. However, the game didn’t start off in the best fashion from Tebbe.
She struggled to get any money in her pot after the first two rounds, with Brown snagging all the solves and taking the lead with $9,650. But Tebbe mounted a comeback in the Express Round, putting herself on the board with $9,392 and winning a skiing trip in Utah.
Tebbe continued her roll in the Triple Toss Up round, solving two of the puzzles and increasing her total. Brown kept right on her tail, though, and even regained the lead in Round 4. Thankfully for Tebbe, a late solve in the final Speed Up puzzle landed her $4,500 and an episode-winning total of $15,892.
Heading into the Bonus Round, Tebbe selected the dreaded “Phrase” category, along with the additional letters “H, M, C, and O.”
This left her with a three-word puzzle that read: “T _ _ E / _ O _ R / T _ M E.”
Tebbe told Seacrest she thought she knew the answer before the ten-second timer even began. She did, as she quickly solved “Take Your Time.”
Seacrest then opened the prize envelope to reveal Tebbe had won a brand new Ford Bronco Sport Badlands worth $41,655. Tebbe looked shocked, revealing, “I don’t have a car!”

Wheel of Fortune‘s Vanna White has shared a rare family photo for Christmas.
The long-running ABC game show’s letter turner has managed to keep her family mostly out of the spotlight but has given a new glimpse into her family.
Days after Christmas, White shared a rare snapshot of her longtime boyfriend, John Donaldson, daughter, Gigi San Pietro, and son, Nikko San Pietro — her two children with ex-husband George Santo Pietro.
In the photo, posted to Instagram as a holiday card, the four smiled and embraced each other while posing against a backdrop of palm trees.
White first met Donaldson, who owns a construction company, through a friend at a barbecue in 2012.
She told People last year that they are in love but have no plans to tie the knot yet.
“Do we have to get married? No, because we feel comfortable in our relationship. You know what I mean?” she said, explaining: “I know that he’s the one. He knows I’m the one.”
In May 2024, White said she was “so proud” of Nikko, 30, after he sold his first home in Los Angeles for his job as a real estate agent with Buying Beverly Hills star Marucio Umansky’s The Agency.
Meanwhile, the TV personality’s daughter, Gigi, 27, also lives in L.A., where she works as a tattoo artist.
The 67-year-old told Good Morning America in September that her youngest child is comfortable around stars.
She was able to arrange a surprise for Gigi while recently filming Celebrity Wheel of Fortune.

“So she did. I said, ‘Come on over.’ She was so happy!”
White’s rare glimpse into her family comes days after her Wheel of Fortune co-host Ryan Seacrest played a Christmas prank on her.
In a video posted on ABC game show’s Instagram, along with Seacrest’s and White’s accounts, Pat Sajak‘s replacement is seen turning on a speaker.
Seacrest, who was allegedly handed a salary worth five times more than his co-host’s when he signed on to replace Sajak as host in September, smiled in a dressing room with a caption under him that read: “Playing Vanna’s Christmas album from 1996 and seeing if she notices….”
As Seacrest lounged in a chair, White quickly came in barefoot but ready and greeted her him and said: “I’m getting in the holiday spirit.”
“I love it,” White said. “Doesn’t it put you in the spirit?” Seacrest agreed as White sat down on a couch, but the next second, she got a shock.
After sitting down, she heard herself in the song and realized Seacrest was listening to her Christmas album.
“Wait, is that me?” she questioned, before he replied: “This is one of my favorite albums.”
“What?!” White asked, to which Seacrest added: “This is one of my favorite Christmas albums.”
“Oh my gosh,” the letter turner said. “I’m in shock,” as Seacrest reiterated what they were listening to.
“Do you remember this?” Seacrest asked. “I do. So much fun,” White said.
The pair wished their viewers a Merry Christmas before singing the song together.
Seacrest captioned the video with: “We’re dreaming of a (Vanna) White Christmas,” as fans took to the comments section to praise the hosts’ cuteness.

White boasted in May 2024 that she was “so proud” of her eldest son Nikko Santo Pietro, 30, after he sold his first home in Los Angeles for his job as a real estate agent with Buying Beverly Hills star Marucio Umansky’s The Agency.
The puzzle queen’s daughter, Gigi Santo Pietro, 27, also lives in L.A., where she works as a tattoo artist.
White, 67, told Good Morning America in September that her youngest child is comfortable around stars, but she was able to arrange a surprise for her while recently filming Celebrity Wheel of Fortune.
“On Celebrity, we had Snoop Dogg and my daughter, who is a huge fan of his — I mean, she meets a lot of celebrities — she goes, ‘Mom! Can I meet him? Is there any way I can come and meet him? I would love to meet him,’” White recalled. “So she did. I said, ‘Come on over.’ She was so happy!”
This year marks White’s 42nd year as co-host of the hit ABC game show.
“It’s such a happy show. It’s fun, too,” she said of her longtime job. “It never gets old. There’s always new puzzles. I have a new dress. You never know what’s going to be said.”

“It’s always Christmas around here, no matter what time of year it is,” White told On The Red Carpet when we visited the set, alluding to the many amazing prizes they give away in every episode. “Every day is special. So that’s why you can be here. You can watch our show, you feel comfy and cozy and it’s a good place to be.”
“And this is the one thing all the relatives and in-laws can agree on, watching Wheel of Fortune, right?,” Seacrest added. “I mean, you can come together as a family and try and solve a puzzle in good spirit and family fun.”
This week, one lucky contestant could win a trip to Times Square for “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2025,” as Seacrest’s special guest.
“If you’ve never seen the Times Square ball drop in person, it should be on your bucket list. And to be able to do it where I can take them around underneath the ball as it’s dropping in Times Square is pretty incredible for a selfie,” Seacrest said.
“Wheel of Fortune” is known for giving away amazing prizes. It’s been in the game for 50 years. And while the show has had many iterations, Vanna says one thing remains the same.
“It is family fun and it has been that way for 50 years. People still watch it because it brings families together,” White said. “It’s such a wonderful thing. And I’m so happy to still be a part of that.”
